Meant to be ♡
Shane and Mary were meant to be married in Italy, there is no doubt about that. The laughter in Mary’s eyes every single moment of her wedding day was contagious and so obvious. Wouldn’t YOU be thrilled to get married in a Tuscan castle?
Shane Cuomo was destined to tie the knot in Italy, his ancestry begged for an Italian wedding! And while he wasn’t able to be part of the planning process due to his occupation – click here to read about it on our blog – he was careful to pick just the right photographer to document the day, and who better than Rosapaola Lucibelli.
And although the guest list was small, love was big for Mary and Shane’s Tuscan wedding. Everyone stayed in the castle and enjoyed the Chianti countryside, wine tasting, walking through vineyards, being immersed in the relaxed Italian lifestyle.
Getting ready for an Italian wedding
Vicchiomaggio Castle is right out of a fairytale, that’s why it’s also part of the Disney vacation itinerary in Italy. A real castle in Tuscany and a real family running the show who cater to your every need and make you feel at home.
All Mary’s Italian hair and makeup team were from the local village and they did a fabulous job on everyone! The florist brought in greenery Mary had ordered for the reception table and bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party. The ceremony was held in the Italian garden which was already decorated with flowers and green backdrops, so just a small table and chairs for guests were set up for the I do’s.
Mary’s gift to her girls was a necklace made out of old 50 lira coins, a real souvenir from Italy. Favors at the reception table included olive oil produced by the Castle and a pouch with Italian ‘Confetti’, or candy covered almonds, a tradition well known in Shane’s Italian family, the Cuomo’s.
A special surprise for Mary and Shane came straight from her brother, who is an aspiring videographer and who filmed the wedding ceremony for them to remember always ❤️
