Before the wedding
Getting married was such a great milestone in Wendy and Tom’s relationship that an Amalfi Coast Wedding was really the best way to celebrate. They had been dating for a while and there was no doubt in their mind that Positano would be the best place for them.
They stopped in Naples to get the bureaucracy taken care of where they stayed at the
Grand Hotel Vesuvio to get into the Mediterranean mood. The hotel sits on the gulf of Naples right across from landmark ‘Egg’ Castle. Legend has it that the entire castle stand on a single eggshell instead of a cornerstone … legend or myth?
Lookout Tower on the Amalfi Coast
Their apartment in Positano was an ancient lookout tower and they had it all to themselves from top to bottom. Finely furnished with southern Italian antiques, the view from the tower terrace was a hold-your-breath drop into the Mediterranean Sea about 1000 meters below.
Legal Ceremony and romantic dinner for two
The city of Positano performs legal wedding on a gorgeous terrace overlooking the water. Wendy decorated everything with her favorite purple orchids and hydrangeas and the couple left no stone unturned for their pictures around town. Wendy and Tom strolled hand in hand up and down the small but bustling Italian village, closely followed by their photographers, paparazzi style.
The ambiance for dinner overlooking Positano beach was the epitome of romance, set up at Buca di Bacco right on the sand where the newlyweds enjoyed fine seafood dining. Wendy and Tom continued to honeymoon through Italy stopping in Orvieto at the magnificent
La Badia Hotel then in Florence at
Hotel Brunelleschi, right behind the grand Duomo cathedral.
Getting married in Italy was well worth the wait for them both!
