Choosing a venue
It seems like this was the easy part for Marisa and Todd because they knew exactly what they wanted. A villa rental company in Ventura, Calif. took care of all their accommodation needs. But little did they know that the villa they picked sat in the midst of a star-studded cove with VIP eatery Lo Scoglio (Elton John is a regular) and celebrity hangout La Conca del Sogno (a Bey and Jay vacay fave). A secluded area of the Amalfi Coast was just what they were looking for and as a result Relais Vittoria checked all the boxes for their entire day: wedding ceremony, reception, and dance party.
Being a secluded part of the Sorrento coast logistics were above all a primary concern, quickly solved. All transfers to and from local airports and train stations were managed by a local transfer company, Positano Drivers.
This was not just a dinner … it was a PIZZA-MAKING PARTY! Everybody rolled up their sleeves, rolled out dough, and picked their favorite toppings. Fresh buffalo mozzarella, fresh Italian tomatoes, locally-grown vegetables … the WORKS!
The wedding day menu started with Marisa and Todd’s signature cocktail, Ludden Limonata. A generous open bar service kept running the entire event and was stocked with local wines from Marisa Cuomo Vineyards, a selection of mixers, and Todd’s favorite Italian beers Moretti La Rossa and Peroni. (editor’s note: click on the Moretti link, they really have a cute website 🙂
An exquisite al fresco dinner served first of all, a luscious caprese salad with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. Vegetarian lasagna was followed by a veal escalope (Todd’s favorite) smothered in Marsala and served with oven-roasted potatoes. The vegetarian entreè was a luscious eggplant parmesan. Finally, dinner finished off with no other than homemade limoncello.
Marisa and Todd’s adorable ‘I love you, I know‘ wedding cake was a traditional Italian mille fogli filled with chantilly cream. The three-tiered wedding cake made specially by a local Sorrento pastry chef.
All food was catered by local restaurant Da Maria Grazia.
Todd rented a sleek 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia sportscar from a local private car company Spider Lifestyle to take a post-ceremony spin with his new wife.
Summer fun in the sun
This San Diego couple and their friends were looking for fun, and they found plenty! They rented Italian vespas and drove around with the crazy Italian drivers defying all rules of the road. Also, Marisa and Todd organized a day trip on a private yacht to visit the isle of Capri, the Blue Grotta, and enjoy a seaside lunch at Torre Saracena.
Their wedding day was packed with fun too: friends giving speeches (aka roasts), the shoe game, Todd performing some karaoke and Marisa posing in the photobooth with her besties. Even more, their grand entrance to open the dance floor was a jaw-dropping rendition of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s unforgettable routine to the tune of ‘I’ve had the time of my life’ from Dirty Dancing – APPLAUSE!
Music was a big part of Marisa and Todd’s wedding day. They hired a local music man who provided a violin soloist to play Canon D for Marisa’s entrance and a classic ‘O Sole Mio as newlyweds. Special interlude: ‘All of Me’ by John Legend.
Bridal Party entrance – Justin Timberlake ‘Can’t stop the feeling’
First Dance – Teiture ‘One and Only’
Father/daughter – The Temptations ‘My Girl’
Mother/son – Louis Armstrong ‘What a Wonderful World’
Bride and Groom dance – Bill Medly, Jennifer Warnes ‘I’ve had the time of my life’
Above all, Marisa and Todd had the time of their lives getting married on the Amalfi Coast!
