Catholic blessing in Chianti

A catholic wedding in Tuscany, in the heart of Chianti, in the chapel of love ♥︎ The petite village of Castellina has one hotel and restaurant, an 11th century town hall, and a prestigious maker: the maestro himself, Brunelleschi.

Small Town, Big Art

Filippo Brunelleschi was an architect during the renaissance and he made his way to fame by topping the cathedral in Florence with the largest dome in the world at the time (finished in 1436). Little do most art historians know, he also plotted the first underground gallery for military defense in 1431 in the small Tuscan town of Castellina in Chianti. This fortified tunnel pre-empted military architecture in the 1500s and is now home to small shops and an ice cream parlor.
